ISLAMABAD — Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has approved establishment of the first Federal Medical & Dental College in public sector in the capital and entrusted to the Cabinet Division its establishment and operationalisaton.

The college was inspected by Pakistan Medical & Dental Council on 28 March, 2011 and was recognized for MBBS by it. The college is affiliated with Quaid-e-Azam University which is ranked as the number one university of country by Higher Education Commission (HEC).

The Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) will be the main attached hospital. In addition, another hospital at NIH is coming up very soon as part of Prime Minister's Health Complex to cater for the educational requirements of the students.

National Testing Service (NTS) will be responsible for the whole process of admission while ensuring total transparency and merit as per the laid down quota.

Application forms and online deposit slips are available on NTS website. The candidates are required to send their applications on the prescribed application form along with an online deposit slip (in original) at NTS headquarters Islamabad.

The last date for the submission of the application is 17th December and the roll number slips will be dispatched on 19th December.

The admission test will be held on 1st of January 2012 and NTS will upload the result on its website. The institute will cater for educational need of students from all over Pakistan and seats have been reserved for all the provinces as per the government approved quota.

This is in line with the government policy of providing affordable quality education in all professional fields.
