LAHORE-Sharif Medical and Dental College’s Department Of Community and Preventive Dentistry organized prodigious dental camps during the year 2016-17 at their dental OPD. The main aim was to increase the cognizance amongst the general public about oral hygiene, dental problems and oral health in general.
The activities were carried out under the supervision of senior faculty members including the eminent Principal Prof. Dr. Col .Iffat Batool, Dr. Ch. Muhammad Aslam, Director of Clinics and Head Of Department, Dr Amna Nauman Khan. The dental camp was organized in association with Platinum Pharmaceuticals and Colgate Palmolive limited.
A magnificent oral health week was also conducted in Sharif College of Dentistry. A team of tremendously skilled doctors with prior experience of community camps visited schools in every nook and cranny in the vicinity of Raiwind city. The purpose of oral health week was to accentuate the importance of preventive dentistry among children.
Sharif College of Dentistry celebrated world tobacco day. The Principal of College of Dentistry, Prof. Dr. Col. Iffat Batool and Director of Clinics, Dr. Chaudhary Muhammad Aslam were the Governing bodies of this event while the head of the department Assistant Professor, Dr. Amna Nauman along with other faculty members supervised the event.
The students and teachers of SMDC celebrated sports day in February 2017, which included football and basketball matches.
Regular general club conferences are held throughout the year. These journal clubs were enriched with commendable knowledge and latest progress in the field of dentistry and were participated by students, staff and the faculty members.
Col. Prof. Dr Iffat Batool was honored and eulogized by the faculty of dentistry as she was promoted to the rank of principal of Dental Section SMDC in January 2017.
