So what is the major factor that leads to oral cancers? Excessive and continued use of tobacco in cigars, cigarettes, pipes, snuff and other forms of smokeless tobacco. Use of alcohol and Human Papillomavirus are some other causes of oral cancers. People who are immune to their oral and physical health as well as those who intake poor nutrition can also develop some kind of cancerous condition.

The reason why it is so important to visit a dentist routinely is that according to American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, if there is any kind of cancer in the mouth, they would be able to detect it. But that is not all. Family dentists or oral surgeons will also be able to guide their patients to the best of oral practices. They will inform every one of the right procedures to attain optimum oral hygiene.

As per the advice of American Dental Association, everyone be it children or adults, should visit dentists regularly in order to make sure that no oral cancer is developed. If such a cancer does occur, it can be dealt with in due time.
