POSTER COMPETITION ORGANIZED BY
DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY DENTISTRY: BAQAI DENTAL COLLEGE
KARACHI - Recently, the faculty of Community Dentistry at Baqai Dental College, including Dr. Samreen Mazhar, Dr. Mahwish Bano, Dr. Mohammad Ali Laghari and Dr. Raza Abbas Abidi along with their Head of Department Prof. Dr. Asghar Ali Shigri, organized a Poster Competition for 2nd Year BDS related to the course outline of their syllabus.
The students were very enthusiastic to display their efforts. Each group comprised of 2 to 3 students and in total there were 25 groups participating in the event. They were assigned with different topics on which the posters were made.
Dr. Nauman Sheikh, Head of Department Oral Pathology was invited in the event as an expert to judge the students on the basis of their work and knowledge regarding their topics. He inspected the posters and tested the knowledge of participants. During the event, all the faculty members of the BDC family visited and admired the hard work of undergraduates.
The Principal, Prof. Dr. Kashif Ikraam accompanied by The vice Principal Dr. Talha Mufeed Siddique made an appearance at the event. Prof. Dr. Kashif Ikram valued the initiative taken by the department and the performance of contestants. He added that such competitions will be conducted on regional scales in near future.
Dr. Nauman Sheikh announced the top 3 groups. The Top 3 teams who won this competition were:
1ST POSITION WARA AND FARWA
2ND POSITION SHIFA AND TANZEEL
3RD POSITION FAIQA AND MUBASSHIRA
These winning teams were awarded with prizes, and certificates were given to all the participants by him.
These efforts of the department aided the students with their studies and encouraged them to learn to work as a team. These events must be arranged regularly as they play a vital role in building confidence in the students.
