Lahore: CMH Lahore Medical College and Institute of Dentistry held its 1st Convocation of BDS Batch and 2nd Convocation of MBBS batch in Feburary 2014. The Chief Guest for this prestigious event was the Chief Minister of Punjab Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif along with Commandar 4 Corps Lt. Gen. Naweed Zaman, Vice Chancellor University of Health Sciences Maj. Gen. Prof. Muhammad Aslam, Principal CMH Lahore Medical College Lt. Gen.(Retd) Syed Afzal Ahmed, Dean Institute of Dentistry Prof. Muhammad Qasim Saeed and stage secretary Prof. Shahid Hassan.
Degrees were awarded by the Vice Chancellor UHS. The Gold Medals were awarded by the Chief Minister of Punjab.
Taimoor Khan was awarded with 8 Gold Medals in total as a result of his outstanding performance in the subject of Physiology, Oral Biology, Science of Dental Materials, Periodontology and Orthodontics. He acquired a Gold Medal for securing 1st Position in 1st and 3rd Professional BDS examination. He attained Silver Medals for securing 2nd Position in 2nd and 4th Professional BDS examinations.
Rida Fatima Waseem received 4 Gold Medals in total in the subject of Community and Preventive Dentistry, Anatomy and General Pathology. She was also awarded a Gold Medal for securing 1st Position in Second Professional BDS examination.
Ayesha Abbas received 3 Gold Medals in total in the subject of Oral Surgery and Operative Dentistry as well received a Gold Medal for getting the 1st Position in First Professional BDS Examination.
In light of commendable achievments Taimoor Khan was also awarded Best Graduate Award The Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah Gold Medal.
The Vice Chancellor University of Health Sciences administered the oath to the newly graduated doctors.
At the end the Chief Minister Punjab Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif congratulated all the students, especially the ones who received the medals. He also appreciated the efforts put up by the Institute of Dentistry and CMH Lahore Medical College for producing such an outstanding result.
