KARACHI - The newly-installed air-conditioners at Civil Hospital Karachi’s (CHK) emergency department have developed faults and hence not functioning properly.

According to sources, Edhi Foundation had donated six new air-conditioners to the CHK administration during the recent heatwave that gripped the city for more than a week and claimed hundreds of lives, but three of them are still not working.

They said that three of the total six air-conditioners installed by Edhi Foundation’s electricians in the CHK’s emergency department, had developed some fault, causing immense hardships to patients in the current hot and sultry weather.
