Higher education can be strengthened by effective strategy: HEC Punjab

LAHORE- Newly appointed Vice Chancellors of three major universities in Punjab, formed a delegation to call on the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Punjab’s Chairman - Prof. Dr. Muhammad Nizamuddin.

According to media reports; The vice chancellors assured the chairperson Punjab HEC about their cooperation. The delegation comprised of Vice Chancellor University of Gujrat Dr. Zia ul Qayyum, Vice Chancellor University of Engineering & Technology Lahore Dr. Fazal Ahmad Khalid and Vice Chancellor Government College University Faisalabad Dr. Muhammad Ali Shah. The party presented different suggestions for faculty and staff development, and capacity building programs.

Speaking on the occasion Prof. Dr. Muhammad Nizamuddin said that after consultation with stakeholders, effective strategies would be chalked out to strengthen higher education in the province. He further stated that Punjab HEC would help bring the higher education sector of the province at par with international standards.

During the meeting, it was agreed that orientation workshops in the areas of human resource and finance would be organized for the staff at different universities within the region.
