- 1st Batch of FCPS inducted in HUDH. Karachi: The Hamdard University Dental Hospital (HUDH) was recently award the Post Graduate Training Institution Status. HUDH held a ceremony to commemorate the award. The award will allow the HUDH to induct PG Training session for FCPS in accordance with the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP). Well renowned dignitaries were present at the event. The Chief Guest of the event was Vice President CPSP, Prof. Dr. Rizwan Azami, Prof Dr Navid Rashid, President of the PDA Karachi Chapter and Prinicipal of Liaquat College of Medicine of Dentistry - Dental Section, was the Guest of the Honour. The event was also attended by Chancellor of Hamdard University, Madam Sadia Rashid, along with Vice Chancellor Hamdard University, Prof Dr Hakim Abdul Hannan, Registrar Hamdard University Prof Valiuddin, Dean Faculty of Health Sciences, Prof Dr Mohammad Furqan, Principal of the the HUDH, Prof Dr. Nadeem Hafeez Khokar. Prof. Dr. Khokar appreciated the team of HUDH who had been working for almost past 5 years for the FCPS programme. He specially thanked Dr. Arshad Hasan for his tireless efforts who was then a part of HUDH. A total of 25 applicants applied for the FCPS Trainee position at the HUDH, however only 3 were selected, namely Dr. Ahmed Tariq, Dr. Fareeha and Dr. Hina Nafeez. Dr Navid Rashid commended the efforts of HUDH on the focus of maintaining the standards of merit in the selection of the FCPS trainees. The ceremony also acknowledged and honoured the services of the retired staff of the HUDH with certificates and Shields. The event also marked the inauguration of Girls Common Room, Library and Study Rooms, Executive Clinics. A mela was also organized by the students of HUDH consisting of Selfie Stalls, Song Dedication and Food Stalls.
