Immunization team in the line of fire again

SWABI-A technician of the Expanded Programme on Immunisation (EPI) was shot dead in a gun attack whilst returning home from work in Swabi.

According to the police, Sohail Ahmed, who belonged to Kalu Khan Village, was posted in Narnji village by the health department, a village which borders Buner district.

He was returning home from the Narnji village hospital when some men gunned him down and fleed. By the time police reached the crime scene, the men had escaped. Police cordoned it off and took the body into custody. Although they conducted a search operation to find the men responsible, no arrests were made by the time this report was filed.

The victim initially worked at Rescue 1122 and had later joined the health department as an EPI technician. The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa health department tweeted a condolence message in his name.
