NADAP Strives for Recognition and Value of Pak’s Dental Auxiliaries

KARACHI - The 5th Dental Auxiliary Education Continuing Program was held at Dow University of Health Sciences, Ojha Campus. This program was organized by National Association of Dental Auxiliary Pakistan (NADAP), and the Chief Guests of this program was the head of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department Prof Dr Zia Abbas. Honorable Guests also included the Head of the Oral Pathology Department and Head and Principle of Dow School of Dental Care Professionals, DUHS Prof. Dr. Azmeena Hussain and Prof. Dr. Asad Jawaid.


The Chief Guest Prof. Dr. Zia Abbas raised his voice to consider the value of DCP graduates dental hygienists and dental technologists as they are doing bachelors of four year along with the one year house job so they deserves a proper job standard and professional protocol according to their capabilities. Honorable Guest Prof. Dr. Azmeena Hussain also addressed all the participants and told the students that she is working for the DCP-ian Masters’ program so in this way all the undergraduates of the program will be able to do their post graduate in their chosen specialty. Furthermore the honorable guest Prof. Dr. Asad Jawaid in his speech raised the issue of licensure in front of the auxiliary community so that they will be able to work individually in their clinics according to their working criteria and they will do their work inside their circle and not use illegal means.



After the speeches by the honorable guests, lectures were delivered by the lecturers of DCP. The first lecture of the program was delivered by Miss. Ifra Ashfaque on topic Role of Dental Hygienist in Hepatitis. The second lecture was delivered by Miss. Urooj Asif on the Role of Dental Hygienists in Dentistry. The third lecture was delivered by Miss. Tooba Khan on the topic Application CAD/CAM in dental prosthetics and the last lecture was delivered by Miss. Fatema Khuzema on the Role of Dental Technologists in Maxillofacial Prosthetic. The program was hosted by Miss. Kanwal Aziz.


At the end of the session, President of NADAP Syed Tariq Ali Askari gave a vote of thanks to all the honorable chief guests and the participants of the program. He appreciated the lecturers and participants of the program and distributed awards to the honorable chief guests in their regard and also gave awards to the lecturers and host of the program. Syed Tariq Ali Askari said, “It’s a time to unite with each other and to show our professional strength on the national platform. Licensure and recognition will provide us a road map to work on.” After his concluding speech, the session was ended and lunch was provided to all the participants of the program.
