ISLAMABAD - In a unique and first of its kind case the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council registered FIR against a medical college after it received an application from the college, accompanied by forged documents, for the accreditation of a teacher.
The irony is that the said faculty member had been teaching students for some years as he is supposed to have graduated in 1987 and is now found to have forged registration documents. On a lighter note it seems that quacks have decided to upgrade themselves by getting into teaching since healthcare is full of non-qualified practitioners all over the country.
The documents were submitted by Mohammad bin Qasim Medical and Dental College (MBQMDC) with the PMDC, stating that Hasan Aziz had been employed at their institution as an assistant professor since January 2015. Previously the same college was stopped by PMDC to take fresh admissions due to various inadequacies, including a shortage of faculty members. The college was advised to beef up its faculty before it could begin admissions.
It all started when the certificate signed by Ehtram Ali who left council in 2001 and on further investigation the PMDC reference number provided by the doctor belonged to someone else. The PMDC registration number 15609-P where the alphabet refers to province is also of someone from Lahore.
The college representative demanded that the documents be returned, when Medical News tried to contact the relevant person of the college he did not answer the phone. However Hasan Aziz refutes these allegations.
