Karachi – Prof Dr Muhammad Qaiser– Vice chancellor, University of Karachi is given the additional charge of Vice Chancellor, Dow University of Health Sciences today. According to details, a notification has been issued from Governor Sindh’s office in which Dr Muhammad Qaiser is given an additional charge of VC, DUHS along with the charge of VC, UoK. The notification reads that “In Supersession of secretariat’s notification and in exercise of the powers vested in him under section 12(2) of Dow University of Health Sciences, Governor Sindh has been pleased to allow Prof. Dr. Muhammad Qaiser, VC , UOK to hold the charge of the post of VC, DUHS Karachi, in addition to his own duties, with immediate effect, till appointment of regular Vice Chancellor. It is pertinent to mention that, Governor Sindh, on the advice of Chief Minister Sindh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, had appointed Prof. Dr. Umar Farooq as the acting VC of DUHS only two days ago. The sources further said that handing over the charge of acting VC to Dr. M. Qaiser from Dr. Umar Farooq within two days is giving an impression of some kind of rift between CM and Governor house. Previously Prof Dr Muhammad Masroor was the Pro VC of aforementioned varsity prior to Dr. Qaiser and Dr. Umar Farooq.
