KARACHI-Sir Syed College of Medical Sciences(SCMS) organized oral health awareness and screening camp at River Oaks Academy School’s campus. The objective of the activity was to spread knowledge about oral health as well as to prescribe appropriate treatment to the people who turned up at its free Dental checkups camp. The event was organized by heads and assistant professors -Dr.Mahreen Shahzad and Dr.YasirRiaz Malik – ofOral Diagnosis and Medicine andCommunity Dentistry departments. Community dentistry’ senior registrarDrFarzana Zulfiqar and assistant professor (Oral Anatomy),Dr.Saad Sheikh, assisted in organsing the camp. All the studentswere examined and provided with complete treatment plan which included, filling, scaling, polishing, extraction, fluorosis, pits and fissure sealants’ along with any prosthetic and orthodontic needs. Dr Mahreen Shahzadgave a presentation on oral health issues. Students of second year BDS actively participated in the programme.-PR
