Releif for students of Illegal Medical college

Islamabad- The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has assured the students of privately-run Hashmat Medical College, Gujrat, that their academic studies will be adjusted and continued in some other recognized recognised medical education institutions of the country. The students of Hashmat Medical college were seeking continuation of their medical studies, since this college was closed, due to prolonged lack of facilities and violation of PMDC regulations.

Earlier this year, the PMDC had ordered the closure of Hashmat Medical college, for being deficient in some basic facilities required to operate a medical educational institution in Pakistan.  However, the Ministry of the National Health Regulations, Services and Coordination has yet to notify it.

A delegation of the Hashmat Medical College’s second and third year students met PMDC registrar - Dr. Amjad Mehmood in his office recently and apprised him of their misery over the college’s closure.

The visitors requested the registrar to ensure their enrolment in recognized medical colleges to save their time and future.

The registrar assured the students that they would be adjusted in the recognized colleges in-line with the PMDC regulations after their college’s closure was notified.
