The Baqai Dental College (BDC) organized a Research-based Seminar on Dentine Hypersenistivity, as part of its Silver Jubilee Celebrations. It was the Fourth session of the “Expert Speaks” series.
This session was moderated by Dr. Samee H Siddiqui (BDC, Faculty of Operative Dentistry). Dr. Talha M Siddiqui (Vice Principal of BDC) delivered the welcome address and welcomed the Speaker -Dr. Fareed Mohsin (HOD Oral Medicine & Periodontology).
Dr Fareed delivered a lecture on Dentine Hypersensitivity (DH), covering important topics like:
• Role Of Dentinal Tubules in DH
• Brannstorm’s Hydrodynamic Theory
• Patient Education
• Causes of DH
• Etiology and Mechanism of DH
• He further talked about treatment principles by desensitizing the nerves and occluding dentinal tubules.
• Current state of Therapeutic Management Strategies
• Nerve Depolarization
Dr. Fareed Mohsin also discussed about the Proargin Technology, consisting of Argin and Calcium Carbonate and the way Proargin Technology works. A question & answer session was held at the end of the lecture.
Dr. Talha appreciated the efforts and contributions of Dr. Fareed Mohsin and his presence at the Silver Jubilee Celebrations. Proceeding with the event, Dr. Talha welcomed the members of the Baqai alumni, some of whom are currently working for Colgate-Palmolive. Dr. Talha also appreciated and valued the presence of the alumni, for whom it is always an honor to contribute to the educational initiatives of their parent institute.
Colgate-Palmolive was also the main sponsors of this event and their representatives acknowledged the efforts of the Baqai Dental College for organizing this informative session. Colgate toothpaste samples were distributed among the audience.
