Pakistani dental researchers recognised among top 2% world's scientists by Stanford University

Karachi: Eight dental researchers of Pakistani origin have been recently recognised in a publication authored by a group of researchers from Stanford University. Ioannidis et al analysed thousands of articles on the Scopus database until May 2020 to compile a list of top 2% researchers worldwide.

Among the Pakistani dental clinical researchers, Dr Fawad Javed, Eastman Institute for Oral Health, University of Rochester, New York, Dr Muhammad Sohail Zafar, Taibah University, Saudi Arabia, Dr Zeeshan Sheikh, Dalhousie University, Halifax, Dr Zohaib Khurshid, King Faisal University, Saudi Arabia) and Dr Khalid Almas, Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University, Saudi Arabia, Dr Zohaib Akram, UWA Dental School, University of Western Australia, Dr Shariq Najeeb, Western University, London, Ontario and Prof. Dr Fahim Vohra, King Saud University, Saudi Arabia.

The researchers have contributed to research in various topics related to dentistry such as salivary research, tissue regeneration, dental biomaterials, periodontics, prosthodontics, implant dentistry and translational research.
