Dr Khursheed Ahmad Nasim appointed as Vice President of PMDC

Islamabad: Dr. Khursheed Ahmad Nasim is the first dental surgeon in the country to become the Vice President of the recently appointed council of PMC/PMDC. He is among the seven elite professionals nominated by the Prime Minister to oversee the regulatory body of the medical profession in the country. 


Dr. Khursheed has more than thirty-five years of diverse working experience in teaching, administration & management in the health sector in Pakistan & abroad. He graduated from  de’ Montmorency College of Dentistry, Lahore in 1983.

After his house job he joined the government service as a dental surgeon in Rawalpindi; from where he moved to Saudi Arabia in 1987 to work for the Ministry of Health. He came back to Pakistan in 2003 and took over as Vice-Principal Margalla Institute of Health Sciences, Rawalpindi.

He then, became Project Director of Healer’s Educational Society, Islamabad in 2010 and was part of the team responsible for developing Islamabad Medical & Dental College. Working in the same position, he presently has the Administrative Charge of the Dental Section of Islamabad Medical & Dental College. 


Dr. Khursheed brings with him vast experience of working in the medical education & healthcare Industry of Pakistan and is well acquainted with regulatory requirements and industry practices. 
He has served as a member of Pakistan Medical & Council (PM&DC) in the past (2013-2015).

During this tenure, he served as Member of PM&DC Executive Committee, Member of PM&DC Dental Education/Curriculum Committee; Member of PM&DC Equivalence Committee; and Co-Chairman of PM&DC Accreditation Committee. 


He has also served as Vice-President Pakistan Dental Association (PDA) from 2005 to 2009.
