Minister Sindh Board wants PMC to be abolished

KARACHI: Ismail Rahoo, Minister Sindh Boards & Universities, Minister has demanded the federal government abolish Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC) to preserve students' academic careers who want to pursue medical or dental education.

In a recently issued statement, the minister said that the PMC had darkened the academic futures of brilliant students of the province, so it has to be stamped out. He said that the bright students of Sindh had to suffer mental agony because they failed to qualify for the PMC conducted Medical & Dental Colleges Admission Test (MDCAT).

The minister said the Sindh government had already expressed serious doubts over the PMC's system for conferring admissions to medical colleges and would not let any injustice be done to the province's students. According to the country's constitution, he said that the centre lacks the power to form a regulatory body like the PMC.
