PMA and PDA praise Health Dept for doctors’ promotions

KARACHI-Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) praises the Sindh Health Department for doing a commendable job regarding the promotions of doctors of Sindh under four-tier and three-tier formula under the decision of Honorable Supreme Court of Pakistan.



According to a statement issued by PMA, Health Secretary Sindh Dr Fazlullah Pechuho appeared in the Supreme Court Karachi Registry, and informed the court that 190 doctors have been promoted from grade 19 to 20.  He said second board meeting would be held on January 03, 2018 and 1500 doctors will be promoted from grade 18 to 19. The court was also informed that as a result of upcoming board meetings, about 4000 doctors will be promoted from grade 17 to 18.


About 50 senior dental surgeons have also been promoted from BPS 18 to 19. Subsequently all the specialist doctors, dental surgeons and general cadre doctors will be promoted according to the orders of apex court.



Secretary General PMA Centre Dr S.M.Qaisar Sajjad and Joint Secretary PMA Sindh Dr M Usman Mako with large number of doctors from interior Sindh were also present in the court.


PMA and PDC congratulated all the doctors of Sindh for their successful struggle for resolving their long standing issue of promotions. PMA hope that the remaining doctors waiting for their promotions will also be promoted in the next board meetings.
