Dental nurse removed from GDC registry for misconduct

UK: Recently a dental nurse's GDC registration was eradicated from the registry after she was found to be in possession of an indecent photograph of a child.

Bahareh Zahiri-Dastjerdi, received a notice from the authorities for the possession of indecent content regarding a child, falling under the lines of child pornography, which violates Section 160 of the Criminal Justice Act 1988.

According to the Professional Conduct Committee hearing, Zahiri-Dastjerdi, a registered dental nurse had shared the video with a colleague at the reception area at her workplace.

The video has been deleted since, therefore it could not be produced at the hearing. Investigation on the matter is still underway.
