KARACHI – An informative session titled ‘Advances in Periodontology’, conducted by Prof Dr. Tariq Javed, Professor of Periodontology, Vice Dean of James B. Edward College of Dental Medicine was held in Altamash Institute of Dental Medicine (AIDM). The thought provoking session was carried out in an effort to educate dental students, house-officers and faculty members about the pivotal role of maintaining good periodontal health. This included a thorough discussion regarding the latest innovation in global periodontal practice. Revolutionary modern day advancements made in treating gummy smile cases were also discussed in detail. This was followed by a live clinical demonstration of periodontal examination and procedure was performed by Prof Tariq in the executive dental clinic at AIDM. A certificate of appreciation was awarded to the guest speaker with the event being highly appreciated by both students and faculty members.
