KARACHI: The periodontology department conducted a seminar at Bahria University Health Sciences campus (BUHSC), in collaboration with GSK for Dental House Officers and Dental Faculty in the Conference room. The Seminar was titled “GUM PROBLEMS AND DENTINAL HYPERSENSITIVITY”.
This seminar was organised by Department of Periodontology. Speakers of seminar were Dr Farzeen Tanwir and who enlightened the participants about “Gum Problems” and Dr Ahmed Bin Khalid about “Dentinal Hypersensitivity”.
Mr Fahim Bhatti Senior RMD from GSK informed the audience about their products, Paradontax and Sensodyne and their mechanism of action. A kiosk was setup to check the sensitivity among the participants by distributing the ice-lollies. In the end gift hampers and lunch boxes were distributed among the audience and dental faculty. Faculty and house officers gained knowledge as well as thoroughly enjoyed the event. More events like this should be organized between academic institutions and Industry partners as knowledge translation activities.
Director General BUHSC Vice admiral Khalid Amin (Hilal e Imtiaz) military, principal Dental Section, Dr Wahab Kadri, Vice Principal Dr Kulsoom Fatima Rizvi and Director Campus Noman Imam SI (M) attended the event. Director General BUHSC Khalid Amin distributed the certificates among the participants and organisers of the event.
