LAHORE: Investigation into the Avastin injection’s reaction damaging eyesight of a large number of patients has almost been concluded, says Punjab Health Minister Dr Javed Akram.
Speaking to the media, the minister said 90pc of the investigation into the Avastin episode has been completed and the committee probing into the issue has sent a report to the chief minister.
He said a new five-member committee consisting of ophthalmologists has been formed to look into eyesight damage caused by the injection, and prepare SOPs for the proper use of Avastin injection.
The minister said so far five drug inspectors have been arrested in the scam.
