KARACHI: Altamash Institute of Dental Medicine (AIDM) Karachi recently held its convocation ceremony at the Pearl Continental (PC) here, awarding Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degrees to 355 graduates from five batches, besides certificates of merit and medals to the position-holders.

The ceremony was presided over by three eminent personalities: Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Naveed Ashraf NI(M) TBt; Vice Chancellor of Jinnah Sindh Medical University, Karachi, Prof. Dr. Amjad Siraj Memon and President of the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan, Prof. Dr. Khalid Masud Gondal (Sitara-e-Imtiaz & Presidential Pride of Performance). The attendance of senior officials from the Pakistan Navy, the Registrar of Jinnah Sindh Medical University, and notable figures from the medical, dental, and allied health sciences communities added prestige to the event.

In his welcoming address, Prof Dr Mohammed Hasnain Sakrani, Principal of AIDM, expressed pleasure and satisfaction at the rapid growth of AIDM into one of the country's most prestigious institutes. He commended the initiation of Postgraduate FCPS programs in Dental Sciences.

Degrees were conferred by the chief guests, followed by the oath taking ceremony conducted by Prof Dr Ambreen Afzal Ehsan, Dean Academics at AIDM

Chief guest Admiral Naveed Ashraf NI(M) TBt congratulated the students, parents, and faculty on their hard work and commendable performance. He said the convocation marks the beginning of graduates' practical lives and urged them to use their knowledge for the betterment of the community and nation while upholding ethical standards.

Prof Dr Amjad Siraj Memon congratulating the students encouraged them to uphold the noble traditions of their profession and serve humanity to the best of their abilities.

Prof Gondal summarized the essence of dedication, resilience, and continuous learning in his address. He spoke about the evolving field of dentistry and offered guidance to the graduates as they embark on their professional journey.

The session concluded with AIDM President Prof. Dr. Mohammad Altamash (SI), along with Principal Prof Dr Hasnain Sakrani, Chief Executive Dr. Shaheena Altamash, and Dean of Academics Prof. Dr. Ambreen Afzal Ehsan, presenting shields to Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf NI(M) TBt, JSMU VC Prof. Dr. Amjad Siraj Memon, and CPSP President Prof. Dr. Khalid Masud Gondal.
