PHC team seals four hospitals in different cities    

LAHORE:  An inspection team of the Punjab Healthcare Commission (PHC) sealed four private hospitals in different cities of the province over various irregularities.

According to a spokesperson for the PHC, four hospitals and several operation theatres and labs were sealed by the inspection team during an operation. 

He says the commission also imposed a ban on admissions of patients to two hospitals.

One of the private facilities, Shahid General Hospital in Khanewal, where the PHC team sealed operation theatre and ward, was found without any doctors and paramedical staff, says the spokesperson, adding that a dispenser was running the hospital.

Moreover, the admissions of new patients were banned in Rehman Hospital, where the PHC team suspended operations of gynaecology and blood bank facilities.

Similarly, National Hospital, Bahawalpur, on Chishtian Road, was completely sealed after doctors conducted flawed surgery of a girl’s arm.

Similarly, the team sealed three hospitals run by the administration of the Youth Community Development Organisation in Multan over different irregularities.
