Lahore: Akhtar Saeed Medical and Dental College organised an innovative workshop and certification course on fast track aligners under the aegis of Clear Path orthodontics at AMDC by led by Prof Dr Sabir Hussain Principal AMDC and Prof Dr Col (Retd) Iffat Batool, Dean clinical sciences and HOD department of orthodontics.
The college is always introducing innovative techniques and procedures for dental graduates. This workshop was held to provide knowledge of this evolving technique.
The programme started with the recitation from the Holy Quran and an introduction by Prof Iffat Batool. This was followed by an informative presentation by the chief speaker Dr Nasreen Nagani who is a senior consultant orthodontist.
The chief guest spoke about the methodology of aligners. She explained each and every step of the formation of aligners and emphasised that fast track clear aligners are esthetically pleasant metal free appliances that require fewer attachments and fewer visits. They are made from FDA approved plastic which leads to low plaque accumulation.
The hands on workshop where the process of clear aligner setup was explained by the representatives who demonstrated, CADCAM scanning, PolyVinyl Siloxane impression (Putty Impressions) and Inter Proximal Reduction Process (IPR) as all students got an opportunity to get familiar with these adjuncts.
After the vote of thanks by the Principal, shields were presented to Dr Nasreen Nagani and Dr Tahir Mehmood followed by lunch, souvenirs and certificate distribution.
