Medical college admissions in Punjab begin with 4,000 applicants on day one

LAHORE: The admission process for medical and dental colleges in Punjab, encompassing both public and private institutions, commenced on Monday. On the first day, approximately 4,000 candidates submitted their applications.

Applicants are utilizing the University of Health Sciences' (UHS) online portal for submissions. Dedicated portals have been set up for government and private medical and dental colleges, which can be accessed via the official UHS website at www.uhs.edu.pk.

To register on the online portal, candidates are required to provide their and their fathers' names, email addresses, mobile numbers, and passwords. After completing seven straightforward steps, candidates can submit their applications, as confirmed by a UHS spokesperson.

Of the total 3,820 applicants, 2,399 have applied for government colleges, while 1,421 have applied for private medical and dental colleges. All applications will be accepted exclusively through the online portal, allowing candidates to indicate their preferences for all colleges in a single application.

The application window for both government and private medical and dental colleges will remain open until 5:00 PM on October 31.

In Punjab, there are a total of 16 government medical colleges with 3,376 MBBS seats and three dental colleges with 240 BDS seats. Furthermore, there are 32 private medical colleges offering 4,000 MBBS seats and 17 dental colleges providing 1,025 BDS seats.
