KARACHI: Liaquat College of Medicine and Dentistry (LCMD) organized an event titled "Teacher's Day - A Tribute to the Guiding Stars," to honour and appreciate the invaluable contributions of the dedicated educators who illuminate the path of knowledge for their students.

Under the guidance of LCMD Principal Prof Dr Navid Rashid Qureshi, the event was organized by Dr Asad Farooq, who led a passionate organising team, including Dr Rizwan Hassan, Dr Asma Shahid, Mr Moiz Majid, Dr Saba Shahid, and Dr Maha Khan, who worked tirelessly to ensure the event's success while maintaining an elegant silver and purple colour scheme at the venue.

Dr June Kuncoro, the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia, graced the occasion as chief guest.

The event commenced with recitation of Surah Alaq, presented by the 2nd-year BDS students Talha Bhatti and Abdul Rafay.

In a display of international camaraderie, the national anthems of both Indonesia and Pakistan were played, symbolising solidarity and fostering goodwill between the two nations through the shared values of education.

The students paid a poignant tribute to the departed teachers of LCMD, evoking heartfelt memories of their lasting impact on the institution. Students from all academic years enthusiastically participated in the event, expressing their deep respect and gratitude for their mentors. The event also highlighted the students' favourite teachers, acknowledging their role as educators at LCMD.

The programme also featured nostalgic videos and captivating skits, expressing appreciation the students hold for their teachers. The ceremony included presentation of awards and shields to the top faculty members nominated through ‘Multidimensional Teacher Evaluation’ conducted by the Quality Enhancement Cell of LCMD, acknowledging the dedication of these educators.
