ISLAMABAD: Margalla College of Dentistry (MCD), Margalla Institute of Health Sciences, Rawalpindi, participated in the Qirat Competition 2022 recently organised by the Isra University, Islamabad, for the medical and dental colleges of the twin cities.
One male and one female student were invited from the medical and dental colleges of the twin cities. Almost all the institutes of Rawalpindi and Islamabad participated in both categories.
Arrangements were made separately for male and female students’ competitions at Isra University, Islamabad campus. Participants were instructed to recite Surah Waqia, Ayat 77-96 with Tajweed – Tajweed refers to the recitation of the Holy Quran following rules and regulations so that the reading of the Quran resembles its recitation by Prophet (SAW).
The 2nd year BDS students Muhammad Talaal Saleem and Hijab Haqqani participated in the competition under the supervision of Dr Humma Zeb Kiyani on behalf of MCD. Muhammad Talaal Saleem got the second position in the male category.
Participation certificates were distributed among all participants. The position holders were awarded shields & Digital Quran and faculty were presented with souvenirs.
