Senate passes PMDC Bill 2022

Islamabad: The Senate Standing Committee on Health has approved the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council Bill 2022 in their meeting on 23rd August 2022.

 

The passing of the bill has brought about a shift in the future for medical and dental professionals across the country. With PMDC back in office as the core regulatory body for decision making, a major change has been brought about for the medical and dental graduates.

The undergraduate students of the medical and dental professions are now under no obligation to give the NLE exams. The NLE exams have been scrapped completely.

MDCAT will however, be taking place as previously announced by the respective provinces.

Mr Saleem Mandviwala, in his tweet has announced the news and thanked Mr Abdul Qadir Patel , Health Minister of Pakistan and other members of the committee, for making this decision.
