KARACHI- A white coat and welcome ceremony was recently held at the Karachi Medical & Dental College. The guests of honour were Dr. ShaistaEffandi (Plastic Surgeon), Dr. Shahid Kamal (Nuclear Medicine), Mirza Muhammad Shakir (Principal Dow Dental College), and Farhan Raza Khan (Consultant Restorative Dentistry, AKU), who gave inspirational speeches to the new students of M.B.B.S and B.D.S, sharing their views and experiences. They emphasized the values of professionalism, ethics and personal developments and theirimpact on society, wishing and hoping that the new entrants will keep up the prestige of institution and play their role in maintaining thestandard of Karachi Medical & Dental College. Earlier on,KMDC principal ProfessorSyed WaqarHussain Kazmi and Head of Dentistry Dr. Zubair Ahmed Abbasi addressed the audience and distributed cheques and certificates to the best graduates and position holders. The students took the oath to abide by rules and regulation of KMDC and PMDC. The ceremony concluded with a tour of the Dental Hospital. –PR g to him, DUHS has provided all possible facilities for creating pharmacists at par with the international standards. He also advised the students to respect their parents and teachers alike. Prof Dr Sumbul Shamim, Principal, Dow College of Pharmacy, in her welcome address gave a brief overview of Dow College of Pharmacy. She said that DCOP had been established to provide highly competitive pharmaceutical education to its students. Later on, Dr. Qaiser Waheed, former chairman of PPA offered vote of thanks, and lastly, Prof. Dr Umer Farooq and Dr Sumbul Shamim presented DUHS memento to the chief guest and guest of honor.
