AIDC team examines 451 kids at three schools 

ABBOTTABAD: As part of marking the month of March as ‘Oral Health Month’ a team of dentists from the Abbottabad International Dental College (AIDC) screened out 451 schoolchildren at three local schools, suggesting treatment for them. 

The AIDC Department of Preventive & Community Dentistry team comprising seven dentists and 12 students, constituted by HoD Associate Professor Dr Qurat-Ul-Ain visited the Government Girls Primary School, Pakistan International Public School (PIPS) and Modern Age Girls School under the supervision of Dr Ali M Tariq, Dr Kiran Awan and Dr Iqra Satar. 

During the visit, the AIDC team gave a live demonstration to the schoolchildren on brushing their teeth as per their respective age groups and oral condition. 

The children were also guided about maintaining good oral hygiene and healthy dietary habits. 

During the exercise, a total 451 schoolchildren aged from 3 to 12 years were screened out by the AIDC dentists, who also reported to the parents about the oral hygiene status and treatment needs of their children. 

At the end of the exercise, goody packs were distributed among the schoolchildren.
