KP govt issues Rs2bn to revive Sehat Card programme

PESHAWAR: The caretaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) government has recently disbursed an  amount of Rs2 billion to restore the healthcare services’ provision under Sehat Card programme in the province.

This was announced by Dr Riaz Anwar, Health Advisor to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, saying the health card related services in the province had been suspended for lack of funds.

Dr. Anwar further informed that with the provision of the funds by the KP government, the Sehat card programme has been reinstated, allowing beneficiaries to avail themselves of the facility once again.

In light of this development, the advisor imposed constraints on certain development schemes in the Medical Teaching Institution (MTI) hospitals, directing their managements to prioritise patient treatment over the construction of new facilities.
