Final session on programme evaluation via self-assessment held by JSMU’s QEC

KARACHI: The Jinnah Sindh Medical University’s (JSMU) Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) recently held the final session of its capacity-building series on programme evaluation through self-assessment.

Participants from JSMU affiliated colleges, as well as QEC officials from universities across Pakistan virtually participated in the session.

QEC Institute of Business Management (IoBM) Senior Manager Atif Shahab Butt, who was the guest speaker, conducted the core session.

Ms Suraiya Khatoon gave an overview of the programme comprising the workshop series, consisting of four sessions.

The highly interactive session, featured engaging group activities.

The training was attended by 25 participants from JSMU affiliated colleges, while more than 45 participants participated virtually from various QECs of public and private sector varsities from all over the country. 

They participants were provided training in reviewing and validating the findings of the programme’s self-assessment reports, using evaluation rubrics.

JSMU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Amjad Siraj Memon lauded the QEC team’s efforts for enhancing the quality of teaching and learning.

QEC Director Dr Abdul Wahid Usmani concluded the session with a vote of thanks. 

Registrar Dr Azam Khan was also present during the closing ceremony.

The workshop was aimed to simplify the process of programme evaluation through self-assessment, providing valuable insights to enhance the education quality.
