Medical students continue to protest, slogans resonate outside Governor House

LAHORE: Medical students recently protested outside the Governor House against PMC for conducting irregularities in holding the Medical and Dental Colleges Admission Test (MDCAT).

The students carried banners and placards inscribed with slogans and chanted against the Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC). The students and activists belonging to the Islami Jamiat Tulaba (IJT) also joined the protest.

Students voiced slogans against the PMC, demanding MDCAT conduction on a single day. They also said students' data was stolen as the private company's website holding the MDCAT had been hacked.

The students alleged that the questions included in the examination were out of course, and there were defects in the software, which even failed the top position holders. They also said that the internet was not working at the centres, which resulted in many unrecorded and unscored answers.

They said they were holding protests across the country and would continue to do so till the acceptance of their demands. They said all the licensing exams should be ended, and the commission should not become any exam-taking entity but work as a regulatory authority.
