Islamabad: The Academy of Continuing Health Education & Research (ACHER) in Islamabad, conducted first 2 days contact session (12 total sessions) of Certification course in Orthodontics titled ‘ALL ABOUT ORTHODONTICS’. The session was attended by 08 dental surgeons from across the country. The session was conducted by Prof. Haroon Shahid Qazi and Dr. Afeef Umar Zia comprising of didactic lectures and hands on exercises. The session was followed by practice of online portal. The session had the following highlights;
Lectures: Discussions and cross questioning about the scope of such courses and their aims, need of treatment, fundamentals of Orthodontic Radiography, Photography, Understanding limits and setting up of an Orthodontic practice with special emphasis on Armamentarium
Hands on: Cephalometry and its practice on Lateral Cephalograms including tracing and implications. Instruments essential for treatment with their uses. Live demos of photography and history-taking essential for orthodontic treatment.
