Karachi: Altamash Institute of Dental Medicine (AIDM), conducted a one day Dental Implant Workshop in collaboration with Straumann Group Pakistan (Zinedent Tec 2).
The AIDM team included, Dr. Shaur Sheikh as the coordinator, whereas, Dr. Mariya Shakoor and Dr. Batool Sajjad as speakers. The Straumann Group Pakistan team included, Dr. Bashara Rehman (Speaker and Coordinator), Mr Amer Ashraf, Dr. Hamza Wadiwalla and Dr. Kiran Raza as facilitators.
The session started off with a scientific lecture, comprising of basic Implant Sciences, Prosthetics of Implants and the Zinedent Tec 2 product details.
Prof. Dr. Hasnain Sakrani graced the opening of the session and distributed certificates amongst the participants and organizers.
Dr. Batool and Dr. Mariya delivered informative lectures on Implant Sciences and Prosthetics, respectively, while Dr. Bashara Rehman lectured on the
Zinedent Tec 2 implant details for the participants to be well versed with the system before the hands-on module.
The Hands-On Module was conducted on goat mandibles, and each of the 25 participants placed implants under supervision. The participants had a great learning experience and displayed excellent surgical protocol and enthusiasm.
The success of the workshop was evident by the feedback of all the participants and the faculty of AIDM attended the workshop.
