Department of Community Dentistry, Islamabad Medical and Dental College (IMDC), organized a poster competition amongst the students of 2nd Year BDS, under the guidance of Dr. Rubina Mumtaz (HOD & Associate Professor).
The event was inaugurated by the Project Director IDH, Dr. Khurshid Ahmad, followed by Dr. Rubina Mumtaz’s welcoming address.. Later on, the judges, Prof. Dr. Tayyaba Saleem (HOD, Prosthodontics), Prof. Dr. Saima Azam (HOD, Operative Dentistry), Dr. Hina Mahmood (HOD, Periodontology) and Dr. Shahida Maqbool, all visited the poster stations.
Posters based on “Oral Cancers” and “Prevention of Caries”, broke into a tie and scored first prizes, followed by the poster on “Periodontal Diseases” that came in second.
The event was attended by Senior Dental Faculty members of IM&DC. The Principal, Dental Section, Prof. Dr. Haroon Qazi appreciated the efforts made by the students and encouraged them to continue such educational activities.
Students of 2nd year BDS also arranged a bake sale at the campus. The organizing committee for the entire program consisted of Dr. Sheze Haroon (Assistant Professor), Dr. Sadia Sajjad (Senior Lecturer) alongside IMDC’s Post Graduate students.
