The Department of Prosthodontics, Bahria University Medical and Dental College (BUMDC) conducted a workshop on Surveying and Designing of Cast Partial Dentures, carrying 2 CDE hours.
Dr. Saman Hakeem, Associate Professor and Head of Department, Prosthodontics delivered a comprehensive lecture on Surveyor usage in designing Cast Removable Prosthesis, during the first session.
All the participants were given handouts to facilitate the session and templates for designing CPD in different partial tooth loss conditions, to give a better insight of the procedure.
After the lecture session, all the participants were divided into 5 groups and hands on session was conducted by Dr. Saman Hakeem, co-facilitated by the departmental faculty including Dr. Asim Monpuri, Dr. Durafshan Rehman, Dr. Fatima Hasan and Dr. Anum Baqar.
Each participant was given an opportunity to design the prosthesis according to surveying principles.
The second session included the common errors made by the clinicians while designing CPD and interactive discussion on the templates.
At the end of the workshop, certificates were distributed amongst the participants for actively taking part in the sessions.
