“Dental Education Should be Based on Pak Health Issues Analysis”: PDA CC

KARACHI - Pakistan Dental Association Central Council has expressed serious concerns following the observations of the World Federation of Medical Education’s Advisor Professor Dr Janet Grant, wherein WFME has pointed out the importance of imparting Dental/Medical Education as per the requirements of Pakistan, rather than following the Modular System per se. PDA CC feels that the observations of WFME are very relevant and many problems confronting Dental Education at undergraduate and postgraduate levels are more rooted because of purely Administrative/Subject contents focus of PMDC on western modules, rather than devising Dental Curriculums as per the situation analysis and relevancy of Dental and Health issues of Pakistan.

A detailed Policy Statement on this very important matter will be given by Pakistan Dental Association Central Council shortly. Mainly for PMDC consumption and based on current principles of Curriculum Designing as opposed to Syllabus Designing.
