Karachi- With the increasing demand for high quality restorations, dental professionals need to be updated about the current trends and practical techniques to bring esthetically pleasing results to their patients. With the same objective, a one day lecture and workshop on the art and science of direct anterior composite restorations was conducted by Dr. Sara Khan at Vanguard Dental school in collaboration with Universal Dental (Pvt) Ltd.
The participants learned step-by-step procedural approaches to come over daily anterior direct restorative challenges. The lecture included tooth preparation techniques and artistic application of composite. Students were taught to create seamless transitions from tooth substance to the restorative surface using correct finishing and polishing techniques.
After the lecture Dr. Sara demonstrated to the participants the correct way to perform polychromatic layered, esthetic anterior restoration of a deeply fractured incisor which was followed by the participants practicing on individual models. Tips and tricks to create the perfect macro- and micro-texture for natural restoration surface were also demonstrated.
The participants received certificates at the end of the workshop. The lecture and workshop was greatly appreciated by the participants.
