Dow Dental College passes PMC scrutiny with flying colors

Karachi: In a recent notification released by Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC), Dow Dental College (DDC), Karachi was provisionally approved for registration to induct new batch of dental students.

The notification, as mentioned, was released based on the recommendations of National Inspection Committee and Higher Education Commission in its meeting held recently.

Upon being registered, Dow Dental College would be permitted to admit students for 2019-20 session in accordance with the criteria set by the admission board.

Earlier, a comprehensive inspection of DDC was convened by Higher Education Commission in collaboration with PMC. The inspection was carried out under the directions of National Inspection Committee.

Later, it was notified by PMC Focal Person that the institute had sufficient facilities and fulfilled the requirements as per Evaluation Criteria, 2019. It was informed in the inspection report of PMC that the Dental Institution provisionally passed for the admissions by obtaining total score of 94%.

It was further stated in the PMC notification that the Institution had scored less than 90% in the Biomedical and Hospital facilities. Therefore, Institution would be re-inspected in next round whenever scheduled.

It is also pertinent to mention here that the score granted to DDC has been higher than any other dental colleges in Pakistan. This could be attributed to the efforts of Dr Arshad Hasan, Principal DDC and his team who made it possible.
