DUHS organizes fundraising concert

KARACHI: The Vice-Chancellor, Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS), Prof Mohammed Saeed Quraishy said that extra-curricular activities have their own importance during the education period in a student's life, but if such type of events contributes to supporting those in need, then it turns to play an extremely vital role.

He said this while talking to the audience at the musical concert featuring the internationally known pop /rock band, Strings, organized by the Alumni Affairs & Resource Mobilization Department of Dow University.

It was a fundraising concert, and the amount generated through this event will be used to support development programs at Dow such as scholarships, free of cost treatment, and other healthcare facilities for patients in need. He added that medical education is tough and such events prove to be really relaxing keeping the students' minds fresh out of their strict schedule.

While speaking to the thrilled audience, Director Finance, Nadeem Shakoor Javeri, said that looking at your zeal and zest, he could proudly say that Dow accomplished its mission and we look forward to organizing such events in the future too.

The Strings duo enthralled the audience with their stunning performance while bands like Sensualism and others also rocked the event. The audience enjoyed and appreciated the mesmerizing performances of the Pakistani bands.
