Enthusiastic Celebrations of Oral Health Day at Pre-Clinical Campus, FJDC

Fatima Jinnah Dental College (FJDC) also celebrated this day on 20th March with immense zeal and keenness.  It was arranged by the Department of Community Dentistry, under the supervision of Dr. Zubia Waqar and was sponsored by Protect and Shield”


The fervor event was held in the spacious auditorium of the Pre-clinical Campus of FJDC.  Around 250  students, along with the teachers from government schools namely Habib Public School and Jinnah Foundation School were  invited to attend the event. The event was commenced with a brief introduction, over the importance of this day and oral hygiene.


Vice Principal Dr. Sabiha Mirza shared her views regarding the celebration of Oral Health Day worldwide. She discussed about the “Say Ahh” theme which is a three year campaign of FDI, that launched in 2018 with a sub-theme “Think Mouth, Think Health”.



The event proceeded with passionate performances of the students of the college which included educational skits and presentations regarding oral health. The BDS 2nd year professionals included fun activities for the audience, which in turn made the event more memorable and lively.


Moreover, the future doctors taught the audience some basic steps to maintain their oral hygiene, proper brushing techniques and dos and don’ts of oral healthcare. The event was not only educational but, was full of fun as the students from the schools were given chances to participate in games and win prizes.


The day concluded on a high note, with smiles on the children’s faces, indicating clear success of the event.


FJDC did not only promote Oral Health within the college premises, but beyond the college as well. Senior lecturers from the college visited Hunar Foundation and Beacon House Schooling System Jubilee Campus and conducted scholarly lectures regarding Oral Health and Hygiene. Furthermore, Fatima Jinnah Dental Hospital also organized free screening sessions for the public, while offering discounted rates on certain treatments.
