Federal Govt ordered to sum up arguments regarding PMDC

Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) directed federation to conclude its arguments on next date of hearing on a petition challenging the dissolving of Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) and termination of its all employees.

Justice Mohsin Akhter Kiyani conducted hearing on a petition filed by former employees of PMDC against the presidential Ordinance for dissolving PMDC and establishing Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC).

During this day hearing, the counsel for the petitioners concluded his arguments in the case.

However, Additional Attorney General, Tariq Khokher started his arguments on behalf of federation. The court directed the additional attorney general to complete his arguments till the next date of hearing.

It may be mentioned here that PMDC had been dissolved through Pakistan Medical Commission Ordinance and all of its employees had been terminated after being paid six month advance salaries.
