Free Dental Camp By IM&DC

Rawalpindi: The Department of Community Dentistry, IMDC, arranged a free dental screening camp at the Government School For Blind Students, at Shamsabad Rawalpindi.


The dental team comprised of Dr. Sheze Haroon (Assistant Professor Community Dentistry) Dr. Sadia Sajjad (Senior Lecturer Community Dentistry), Dr. Saba, and Dr. Junaid, Dr. Hassan, Dr. Salman (PG Trainees, Community Dentistry), alongside 2 house officers and students of 2nd year BDS.


The students were thoroughly screened for dental problems and subsequently, treatment were given to those in need. The dental team performed Scaling, Fluoride varnishes and GIC fillings. Rest of the students requiring any other extensive dental treatment, were referred to Islamabad Dental Hospital.


The undergraduate students prepared voice messages regarding oral health education and dental health awareness for the blind students. After dental screenings, Oral Health Kits, were distributed amongst the school children, so they could take care of their oral hygiene. The efforts of the dental team were very much appreciated by the school administration.


The department of Community Dentistry at IM&DC is committed towards the welfare of the underprivileged and deserving local population.
