HU MARC'14 - Hamdard University - Media Accession & Reinforcement Convention

The HU MARC 2014 event at Hamdard University, recently welcomed the students of interfaculty to prove themselves and polish their talents through optimistic perception. HU MARC'14 is a media convention, inspiring competence and leadership for the future.  To preserve the essence of journalism and use media as a tool in uplifting the nation.

This year, HU MARC'14 featured six action-packed journalistic events to provide insights into the multi-faceted media sector. It featured workshops conducted by some renowned media celebrities. A total of 19 teams from BDS, BEMS, PHARMACY, HIMS, and HIET participated enthusiastically to make this event a resounding success.

The DAY-1 of the convention featured  a theatrical performance - THESPIAN ART and a Video documentary - FACTUAL INTUITION. These were meant to enlighten the minds and souls of students, while bonding them as a team to voice their thoughts and perception by producing a drama, skit and video.

On DAY-2 of HU MARC'14 the participants gained an understanding of the importance and productivity of a journalist, to change the society as a responsible citizen. The activity involved finding clues in an investigative exercise. In another activity the students had to record and report all the events to sort out a given situation and then make a documentary within 100 minutes.

On DAY-3 The participants were asked to design a global initiative, to learn how to defend honour and reverence of their country on an international forum, through optimum use modern social media. The topic was "WEAK JUDICIAL AND PUNISHMENT SYSTEM". Students also had to make an interesting presentation on "BRANDED HONEY" - (Youngs).

The DAY-4 of the event was the Results day: where the Faculty of Dental Sciences team won 1st position and was awarded Rs. 30,000 with shield and certificates. The Faculty of Pharmacy secured the 2nd position and was rewarded with Rs. 20,000 along with shield and certificates. The Faculty of Management Sciences got 3rd position and won Rs. 10,000 along with shield and certificates.

The organizing members of this event included; Sameed Ezazi, Abeer Mussarrat and Umar Farooq Siddiqui, who worked under the able guidance and support of faculty members like; Dr. Mehmood, Dr. Abrar, Dr. Tahir. 

Other active participants included Maryam Ali Khan, Muhammad Nabeel Siddiqui (Team Leader) and other team Members including - Saad Ahmed, Maryam Ali Khan,Maryum, Imam, Hassam Khan, Tooba Khalid Obeidy, Abdurehman, Nida Gul, Joham Gul.
