Jacobabad Civil Hospital - Minister Orders Probe Into Closure Of Wards

MN Report KARACHI – Taking a serious notice of closure of various wards in Civil Hospital Jacobabad, absence of medical staff and missing of precious medical equipments, Sindh Health Minister Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar has directed secretary health to investigate into the matter and lodge FIRs against all those found involved in theft of the hospital’s equipments. He also asked the secretary to take stern action against those causing losses to the government exchequer and those found guilty of serious dereliction of duty. The minister also instructed medical superintendent of Civil Hospital Jacobabad to seek police’s help in getting vacated the hospital’s premises from illegal occupants. Meanwhile, of the total 30 doctors who were asked to appear before the minister for remaining absent from their duties for a longer duration, only 12 doctors, who complied with the orders, were fined as per service rules. The minister directed secretary health to issue final show-cause notices to all those who failed to appear before the inquiry committee.
