DN Report: Jawed Akhai, Chairman at Martin Dow, passed away in France, while under treatment.
Akhai was a prominent Pakistani businessman in the pharmaceutical sector, with a family background in pharmaceutical business of over five decades. Besides being the chairman at Martin Dow, Akhai held many prominent positions with several renowned associations, namely Director of Pakistan-USA business Council of FPCCI, associate member of FPCCI Trade Body for Pharma Sector, member of Swiss Business Council, member of Pakistan France Business Alliance, member of Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry, and member of Marketing Association of Pakistan and President of COMMECS (The Old Students Association of Govt. College of Commerce & Economics).
He also kept himself engaged in social work, and made significant contributions to the health and education sectors of the country.
