LCMD Celebrates Independence Day Declamation

71 years of turbulence, sacrifice, and victory, and an undeterred penchant for never giving up, we stand once again with our heads held high this August 14th. Nothing says determination like a nation that despite several internal and external challenges, continues to stand proud.

On Pakistan’s 71st Independence Day, Liaquat College of Medicine And Dentistry celebrated and acknowledged the sacrifice of our ancestors with full zeal, enthusiasm and patriotism. This year a declamation competition was conducted, in which equal participation was taken from students of MBBS and BDS.  The event was organized by head organizers Dr Ayesha Farooq Khan, Dr Hijab Fareed Khan, Dr Syeda Sadia, and the administration of LCMD. LCMD invited Prof Dr Tariq Rafi, Vice Chancellor Jinnah Sindh Medical University as the chief guest. He encouraged students to be good professionals in order to make progress in Pakistan. On this prestigious occasion, Prof Dr Navid Rashid Qureshi addressed the audience and students of LCMD, and guided them to be the best version of themselves in their careers, and in their day to day life. He guided the participants saying that change in a nation can only be brought if the people of that nation change themselves on an individual level.

Students of MBBS and BDS gave patriotic and enthusiastic speeches, which moved and energized the audience.  The competition was bilingual, comprising of both serious and humorous topics. National songs were performed by the students, which was followed by cake cutting ceremony, flag hoisting, and the national anthem.

LCMD wished the entire nation and dental community a very happy Independence Day.
